About this product
What it does, and why.
A high-performance biological slurry management programme designed to accelerate the breakdown of undigested feed, fibres, fats and organic solids in slurry pits, under-slat tanks and lagoons. Presented in ready-to-use liquid state with a huge range of bacteria for both aerobic and anaerobic performance — a complete management programme from Ecological Laboratories, Inc. with 50 years of biological stabilisation experience.
Typical dosing framework (indicative)
This is a slurry management programme — not a one-off treatment. Volumes below follow the published MICROBE-LIFT® dairy farm illustration (US gallons). Your farm is always sized from dip readings, herd class and storage geometry. The programme is tailored for every livestock type — dairy, beef, pig, sheep, horse and poultry systems.
| Phase | Manufacturer illustration — scaled on survey |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Initial start-up dose (typically 5–7 US gal). Odour reduction and ammonia changes noticeable within days. |
| Weeks 2–5 | Activation phase — ≈ 1 US gal per week. Sludge and crust begin to break down. Slurry becomes noticeably more liquid. |
| Month 2+ | Maintenance — ≈ 1–2 US gal per month. Slurry fully transformed: homogeneous, flowing freely, no routine mechanical mixing required. |
What you'll see — the timeline
- Week 1: Noticeable odour reduction — ammonia drops rapidly, improving conditions for both livestock and workers
- Month 1: Sludge and crust start breaking down — slurry becomes more liquid, begins falling below slats
- Month 2: Slurry fully transformed — flowing with ease, ready for easy pumping and uniform land spreading
- Ongoing: No routine mechanical stirring required — saving diesel, agitator wear, time and improving safety
Operational savings
- Reduction or complete cessation of mechanical stirring — an expensive and time-consuming requirement eliminated
- Easier pumping and more uniform spreading when you need to move slurry
- Lower fuel costs — stirrers and pumps used far less or not at all
- Less machinery wear and fewer breakdowns on agitator equipment
Shed environment & animal welfare
- Significant ammonia reduction — rapid changes experienced within the first week
- Improved air quality for housed livestock — better breathing conditions, quieter stock
- Fewer nuisance flies where biology collapses crust habitat
- Improved human welfare — safer, more pleasant working conditions
Nutrient & environmental impact
- Improved nutrient fertility and retention in the soil — less runoff into rivers
- Better nitrogen retention in slurry — less lost as ammonia gas
- More consistent nutrient delivery to grassland — supports sensible fertiliser substitution
- The farm makes immediate financial gain while helping the environment
- Aligns with sustainability, circular economy and scope 3 supply chain reduction targets
Why this is different from other slurry products
- Complete slurry management programme — not a one-off treatment
- Ready-to-use live liquid — immediately active on contact, no preparation required
- Huge range of bacteria for aerobic and anaerobic performance
- Backed by 50 years of biological stabilisation experience and real-world trials
- Microbe-Lift has been around for 50 years, surprising every sceptic — there is no slurry we can't transform

Key features
- You don't have to mix your slurry — when the dosing programme is followed correctly
- Odour reduction noticeable within the first week — rapid ammonia changes improve animal and human welfare
- Sludge and crust breakdown within a month — slurry begins flowing freely through pipes
- Within two months, slurry is fully transformed — homogeneous, flowing and ready for easy land spreading
- Reduction or complete cessation of mechanical stirring — saving diesel, time, machinery wear and improving safety
- Live liquid microbes — immediately active on contact, no activation step required
- Improved slurry quality and soil infiltration may contribute to reduced nutrient losses compared with poorly managed slurry
