Clem spent decades as an International Sales & Marketing Director in Medical Science, working across Europe building long-term relationships with high-value laboratory clients. He pioneered environmental water analyses and quality reporting systems for thousands of medical laboratories.
On a quest to find a natural, biological solution to the nutrient excess problems choking Ireland's rivers and lakes, Clem was introduced to Ecological Laboratories, Inc. — a world-leading company with 50 years of experience in biological, nature-based solutions. Most alternatives on offer were chemical or capital infrastructure — reactive rather than preventive. This was different: a nature-based solution for a problem occurring in nature.
It was always about the disgrace that is Lough Neagh. Decades of neglect, wilful ignorance, passing the problem on for others to pick up later. If you compare our lakes to pristine Lake Geneva, you know something has to change. This is a shared legacy — and change is easier than you think when you care enough to take small steps.
Robert grew up beside the same water. With a background in science, he co-founded Eco Balance Ltd with his father and now leads field operations — door to door across Northern Ireland farms, providing technical support, designing dosing schedules, and proving the biology works pit by pit, farm by farm.
